Innovation Wine Tasting Experience

It will start with a visit to the Herbal Tea Fields, where you will learn more about our territory before Alvarinho and about our infusions, a tradition we are rediscovering. Then we will visit the first continuous vineyard of Alvarinho in Melgaço, the old family garage where Soalheiro started, our cellar, where you will learn about the various winemaking processes to amplify the diversity the territory provides us with, the Sparkling Wines Cellar and the Innovation Cellar, where we push this philosophy to the limit.

We will then go up to the terrace, where, with a privileged view over River Minho’s valley, you can clearly understand what makes our territory unique, and we will then start the tasting.

We will start with Soalheiro Mosto Flor, a wine made from the drops that drip from the Alvarinho grapes before the first pressing – an idea that came from our team, which we developed in the Innovation Cellar; Soalheiro Cota 27, an Alvarinho that is born in the lower altitudes of the Monção and Melgaço valley, in small vineyards next to the Minho River, where the soils are richer in clay; Soalheiro Ag. hora Alvarinho, an Alvarinho inspired by the Georgian style, which ferments in clay vats; Soalheiro Ag. hora Loureiro, which was born out of our desire to experiment with the vinification of Soalheiro Ag.hora Alvarinho with the Loureiro grape variety; after we will taste Soalheiro O Cubo, The Cube, an Alvarinho that ferments and ages in a glass container (which was supposed to be a cube) in our Innovation Cellar; then, because Innovation is always full of surprises, we will taste two surprises from the Innovation Cellar and, finally, Soalheiro Espumante Bruto Nature, a sparkling wine that represents our desire to continue innovating in Alvarinho sparkling wines, a profile in which we were pioneers, in this case in particular by starting from a base wine with no added sulphites and by not making dégorgement.

You will also have the opportunity to taste The Pur Terroir infusions, which reflect the potential of our territory thanks to an innovative process of dehydration at low temperatures, allowing to maintain a high concentration of essential oils: extremely volatile compounds, which provide the infusions with the aroma, taste and properties of each kind. The final selection is carried out carefully, ensuring that all our infusions, both loose leaf and bagged, have more than 90% leaf.
