The diversity of this Territory is one of the characteristics that provides it with uniqueness. The fields where the vine grows have always been covered with other plants, such as aromatic herbs, which grow wild where the land allows.
Before Alvarinho became a larger crop, when cereals occupied the center of the plots and the vineyard was located along the borders, aromatic herbs were already planted in backyards, used for culinary and medicinal purposes. The cultivation of aromatic plants is, therefore, a long-standing tradition in Monção and Melgaço.
The commitment to our Territory – whether for the land, for the people who work it and for the biodiversity that inhabits it -, inseparable from the respect and passion we have for the region, has led us to create a line of herbal teas that pays homage to this time-honored tradition, our Territory – The Pur Terroir Herbal Teas.
The Pur Terroir Herbal Teas
The Pur Terroir represents the original territory, Monção and Melgaço, which is always our starting point and at the genesis of everything we do. From the knowledge of time and place we have been accumulating, we realized that the unique natural conditions that contribute to exceptional wines can also give rise to extraordinary and unique infusions.
The Pur Terroir Herbal Teas come from plants that adapt perfectly to the Territory. With the knowledge we have developed, we have created a line of 10 herbal teas that complement each other and excel in quality and authenticity: Lemon Verbena, Lemon Balm, Spearmint, Thyme, Rosemary, Lemon-Thyme, Chocolate Mint, Strawberry Fields Globe Amaranth, Globe Amaranth and Lemongrass.

Throughout the entire production process, we ensure that the aromatic and therapeutic qualities of each plant remain intact. Careful selection of herbs, optimal harvest time and low temperature dehydration ensure that the essential oils present in the leaves are preserved until they reach the teacup, providing an authentic experience of flavor and benefits.
