Traditional Food and Wine Pairing Experience

This experience will start with a tour of our vineyards, winery and outdoor terrace with its panoramic view of the Minho River Valley. After we will be heading to Quinta de Folga where you will learn about our vineyards, herbal tea farms, and the long-standing tradition of producing smoked meats (Fumeiro) in Melgaço. This experience will finish in Quinta de Folga’s cosy dining room with a tasting of local delicacies.At Quinta de Folga the focus is on Bísaro pig, a local breed, which we raise with ecological breeding. During this gastronomic experience we offer you the following selection of traditional smoked meats prepared from this breed: Salpicão (dry-cured smoked pork sausage), Chouriça de Sangue (smoked blood sausage), Chouriça de Carne (smoked pork sausage), and Alheira (smoked sausage made with pork and bread). The meats will be accompanied by our own homemade jams and vegetables from our organic garden.The experience would not be complete without a tasting of Soalheiro Alvarinho (Clássico), our most internationally recognized wine and a perfect complement for these local flavours.You will also have the opportunity to taste The Pur Terroir herbal teas, which reflects the potential of our territory thanks to an innovative process of dehydration at low temperatures, allowing to maintain a high concentration of essential oils: extremely volatile compounds, which provide the infusions with the aroma, taste and properties of each kind. The final selection is carried out carefully, ensuring that all our infusions, both concerning loose leaf and bagged, have more than 90% leaf.
