Every birth has a story and we don’t know when Soalheiro's started. It was once the name of an agricultural plot, due to the generous sun exposure, where in 1974 was planted the first continuous Alvarinho vineyard in Melgaço. Then, in 1974, it became the first continuous vineyard of Alvarinho in Melgaço.
We celebrate the anniversary on the day the first bottle of Soalheiro was bottled in 1982. 40 years later that bottle still exists and the label still has written in pen the date that the family made sure to mark: 20-3-1982.
In this premium and exclusive edition you will have the opportunity to taste Soalheiro in time, its evolution, the elasticity of the alvarinho grape variety and the creativity of a team that today is a family of families.
Herbal Tea from our Vineyards
It all starts in the vineyard and the vineyard is also everything that surrounds it. It was from this idea that we started to produce the herbal tea.
A fusion of Alvarinho grape skin and seeds, Alvarinho vine leaves, Rosemary, rose petals, Spearmint, Lemon balm, as well as Strawberry Fields Globe Amaranth and Globe Amaranth petals – the essence of our vines in a teacup.
They are 1982 herbal teas, a limited edition that celebrates the 40th anniversary of Soalheiro, preserved in a bag that is also an innovation, made with our fabric produced with residues from the Alvarinho harvest - INVINOTEX.

Soalheiro Recipe Book
The creation of this book started during the confinement period of 2020, when our team members were sharing their food and wine pairing achievements on social networks, but never revealing the recipes. In response to the requests from people who were asking for recipes, we got together and prepared this book.

Soalheiro Children’s Book
This children’s activity book is called ‘Alvrinho – A Uva Que Queria Ser Território’ which translates to ‘Alvarinho - the grape that wanted to be a Territory’. Because Alvarinho has become more than wine or grape, it has become the landscape, the culture, the region, and the life of many families. All of these together is what we call Territory.
